Leopard geckos make wonderful pets. Leopard geckos are relatively small, have minimal care requirements, and can be left without care for several days. They are quiet, have no odor or smell, and don’t need attention from humans.
Leopard geckos are not very expensive and easily available from both local pet stores and breeders. A juvenile leopard gecko will cost between $50.00 and $70.00 while an adult may cost $100.
A juvenile leopard gecko can be kept in a 10 gallon terrarium, so they require very little space.
They have a wide variety of color and pattern variations.
Leopard geckos are the perfect lizard pet as they are not very fast, thus you do not need to worry about them running away when they are out of their habitat.
The common house gecko is very quick and would easily run away when out of a terrarium whereas the leopard gecko would not run away.
Purchasing a leopard gecko, habitat, water bowl, and heat/lighting will usually cost between $200.00 and $300.00.
